Price changes for the latest report in June were mixed with both increases and decreases in price compared to the previous period.
Hipro soya averaged £267/tonne which was £9/tonne (3.5%) more than at the beginning of June. However looking at future prices, figures suggest that prices will fall towards the end of 2010 into 2011. Soyahulls fell during the month of June by £3/tonne (2.5%) to £117/tonne. As with Hipro soya, future figures suggest that prices will fall towards the end of the year.
Rapemeal prices have shown a fair amount of fluctuation over the last few months and June has been no exception. The latest June price gives an average of £196/tonne which is £45/tonne (29.8%) more than at the beginning of June. This has been caused by a shortage of available product as crushing plants have either been shut for maintenance or in one instance, a large plant in Germany was destroyed in a fire. As with other products, future prices appear to be easing back towards the end of the year.
